In an atmosphere filled with warmth, empowerment, and authentic communication, the first meeting of this series took place with the presentation of the book “Blooming: A psychotherapist’s journey from cancer to recovery”, by psychotherapist and author Dionysia Giannopoulou. The book’s central theme – inner rebirth through adversity – resonated deeply with the attendees’ experiences, as the author, in her capacity as a psychotherapist, explained how every hardship can become the starting point for personal growth and renewal.
The event was far more than a typical book presentation; it served as a meaningful bridge of communication between the author and the women of MANA. Participants took an active role, seizing the opportunity to share personal experiences and ask questions regarding the management of fear, loss, and the process of starting over after a diagnosis. The open discussion, had a therapeutic effect, strengthening the sense of community and solidarity that “The House of MANA” stands for.
Furthermore, the analysis of the psychological tools proposed in the book provided the women with new perspectives on how to navigate their daily lives with greater self-care and self-love. Through such actions, “The House of MANA” continues to provide women with new psychological resources and inspiration, helping them face their everyday reality with increased care, love, and resilience.
